Biography: Age 27, Leonard Sydney Rutherford is a motorcycle mechanic and comes from Blackheath, London. He is now in his fourth season of racing, having competed at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Crystal Palace, Silverstone etc. He has ridden in three races over the Mountain Course and has finished in each - the 1955 Junior Manx (49th), the 1956 Junior Clubman's (46th) and the 1956 Junior Manx (21st with a replica). In the Clubman's race he lost nearly ten minutes on the starting line due to retarded ignition timing. Turning to the TT last year he finished 27th in the Junior at 84.14 mph and won a Bronze Replica. He is entered for both this year's races by the Bermondsey MC.
