Age 25, Bill Spence from Belfast is a motor body and motor cycle frame builder; he is entered for Junior and Senior races by Artie Bell, and for the Lightweight event by R.T. Hill.
This is his first time in the Island, his previous experience being confined to five years of Irish road racing, before which he “indulged in trials and grass track racing in a minor way.” Amongst other successes last year he was 350 c.c. class winner, on a Norton, in the Mid-Antrim “150”, his speed being 87.21 m.p.h.; in addition he was third in the general handicap at the same event.
Bill was an official entry of Norton Motors Ltd., together with Jack Brett, in the recent North-West “200”.
