Biography: Age 28, Alan Virco is a mechanic and comes from Northampton. Whilst stationed in Northern Ireland in the RAF he rode in the 1953 Cookstown 100, the course being only 12 miles from his camp, and he has since ridden again in this race. His machine is the BNS - (BSA / Norton Special) - and comprises a 1954 BSA Gold Star engine, equipped with an unusual fuel tank. He rode is into 60th place in the 1956 Junior Manx and last year was 49th in the Junior and 47th in the Senior. Alan writes: "This is the same old bike...but after I win the TT next year I will use the prize money to buy a new plug washer!"
