Biography: Age 30, Ernest Wooder is a motorcycle fitter who comes from Romford, Essex. He has ridden at various short circuits with, in 1959, a first in the Autumn Championship at Silverstone, a fourth at Castle Combe and a fifth at Crystal Palace. Last year—his first in the Manx—he was 24th in the Senior at 85.86 m.p.h., whilst this year he has scored a couple of second places at Crystal Palace. His Matchless is the same machine that he rode last year. Hobbies: "Yacht racing and 10-pin bowling." (TT Special, 7 September 1961, p.18)

His machine is a 1960 G50 which, as a matter of fact, he has only recently collected from the factory.
