Biography: Criminal case. Crown case. Coroner, along with Patrick Stephen and Robert Corkill, Deemster Christian's order having been indicted for a misdemeanor in suffering R. Corlett a prisoner, to make his escape. Entered into bonds to appear at the next Exchequer Court. 2 February 1837 Brew fined £5 British paid. Stephen and Corkill 40/- each and to be imprisoned for 1 calendar month. The fine suspended and term of imprisonment expired. Date of discharge: 2 March 1837. (MS 09783/1/1, p.9)
