Biography: Criminal case. Crown case. Thomas Carran's order, J.P. On a charge of stealing money from the chest of Samuel Norris, Master of ther Brig 'Lark' of Whitehaven, in the harbour of Ramsey. 24th April taken to Ramsey to be tried 25th, returned being indicted. 13 August tried at Court of General Gaol Delivery and found guilty, sentenced to be transported for seven years. Delivered to John Chesterman to be removed to Millbank Prison in compliance with the Secretary of State's order. Age: 22. Date of discharge: 9 September 1844. (MS 09783/1/1, p.159)
