Biography: Olga Margaret Wright was born in 1915 in West Derby, Liverpool, the third daughter of Mr & Mrs J.A.Wright of Liverpool. She and her family spent their holidays each year in the Isle of Man, at ‘Woodheights’, Knocksharry, in Peel. In an Isle of Man Examiner article from July 1934, Wright was described as ‘an artist of considerable merit…particularly in so far as portraiture is concerned.’ The newspaper featured Wright as one of several artists showcasing their work at the Manx Museum in an exhibition. She was third prize winner in a competition to design a Manx tab to accompany gifts to servicemen in the Second World War.
Olga Margaret Wright died on 28 December 2004.
