John Syer

Biography: John Syer was an English artist, who painted various depictions of Douglas in the mid-to-late nineteenth century. He painted landscapes, primarily in the style of artist, William Muller - however, Syer failed as a colourist. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institution, and with the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, as well as the British Artists, between 1832 and 1875. He died in Exeter in June 1885.
