Biography: Colour-Sergeant, 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, killed in action at Paardeberg, South Africa. William Wallace was the son of Mr John Wallace, head master of Ballagawne Board School, Laxey (Mona's Herald, 28th February 1900). The memorial tablet was unveiled in November 1901 (Isle of Man Times, 09 November 1901).
