Biography: Manx Sun, 27 Oct 1900, p. 18 reported the death of Rupert Henry Hall, who spent six years at King William’s College from 1891-1897. He was second lieutenant of the 4th Battalion (Royal Sherwood Foresters Militia) of the Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment),and died at Kroonstad of wounds received at Roodeval. Lieut. Hall was the eldest son of Col. Henry Hall, Commandant of the Royal Hibernian Military School, Dublin, and was only 21 years of age.
