Rushen Internment Camp shell necklace

Description: A handmade shell necklace made by a female internee in Rushen Internment Camp during the Second World War. The small seashells are strung on a piece of white string with a brown thread loop at one end to fasten over a shell at the other end. The shells alternate on the string between brown and yellow shells to produce a pattern. The necklace belonged to the donor and her sister, Rosemarie and Anita Dalheim.
