Engine Room clock from King Orry IV
Date made: mid 20th century
Description: Clock from the Engine Room of the IOM Steam Packet company's vessel King Orry IV. Construction of this vessel commenced at Cammel Laird in Birkenhead in November 1945 and she was launched in 1946, part of a rebuilding programme to replace those vessels which had been lost in the Second World War.
The clock belonged to Chief Engineer Arthur Costain (born 1907) who worked for the Steam Packet company on and off for much of his career at sea.
