Mahogany square piano
Date made: c.1830
Description: A mahogany square piano with wooden frame, circa 1830. Inscription on an ivory plaque reads "John Broadwood & Sons, Makers to their Majesties & the Princesses, Great Pulteney Street, Golden Square, London". The carved and fretted panel above the keyboard is rosewood. The turned legs, terminating in brass castors, can be removed to transport the musical instrument.
