Plane Iron Blades
Description: Collection of cooper's tools used by the donor's stepfather in Peel. H.D. Clark was originally from Scotland but travelled around with the herring fleet. Collection is 87-078 to 87-087.
Plane irons/blades for the crozes and chivs.
1 to 10.plane irons/ blades for the chiv with broad, curved cutting edges some of which are angled. Made from Sheffield warranted cast steel with maker's mark on the back. 21.5 x 6.3 x 0.5 cm.
11 to 14. plane irons/blades for croze with narrowcutting edges. Cast steel. 1.9 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm.
15. rectangular steel block or wedge. 4 x 3.8 x 0.5 cm.
