Maughold church carved stone

Date made: AD 1100s

Description: This is a corner part of a capital, the very top part of a pillar, perhaps from a doorway. The carving is tricky to see at first, but once you spot a couple of features, you should be able to make out an intricately carved scene showing a bearded man caught between the jaws of two beasts, their fangs enclosing his head.
