Woollen and Cotton 'Tailor's' Quilt

Description: A reversible tailor's patchwork quilt with a geometric framed pattern surrounded by random rectangular blocks. The patchwork top contains old striped shirt fabrics (greys and creams) with occasional pink striped fabric. There is a central panel of pink striped cotton and woollen fabrics arranged in a chequerboard pattern itself surrounded by plain squares. The quilt is beige, blue and grey in colour and contains a variety of patterns, mainly plain and striped shirt fabrics with some light blue gingham and pink striped cotton. Some of the rectangles are pieced together from smaller patches of fabric.
The quilt is backed with a patchwork panel of rectangular blocks. It is not quilted and does not contain any filling.
This patchwork quilt was made before 1900 by Eva Mary Deeley McKnight at 2 Marlborough Terrace, Douglas.
