Copper ore
Description: Two samples. One is native copper ore. Some surfaces have an unweathered copper colour but most is green 'verdigris' or blackened. Second sample is a delicate framework of fine, euhedral calcite/dolomite with a very fine coating of pyrite. Anhedral sphalerite and galena are also present. Some of the calcite appears to have grown around cubic galena crystals, now absent.
