Fenella Beach Roman ring

Date made: AD 200 - 300

Description: One of the few Roman-era artefacts from the Isle of Man, this ring has eight indentations on the top which probably originally contained blue and red enamel.

It was found in a rock pool by Peel Castle in the late 1960s. The finder was 7 or 8 years old and on a family holiday with her younger twin brothers. Her father said it was a piece of pipe, but she kept it as her treasure until her death in 2008 when her family donated it to the National Collections.
