Description: "Peel has two public breweries, a free grammar school, a mathematical school and one capital red-herring house. It has five fairs, held at Peel Cross in the town." (John Feltham, A Tour through The Island of Mann in 1797 and 1798, M 09791)

A watercolour which is part of an album by Henry Read Wellbye, donors father, who is thought to have been on holiday on the Isle of Man in 1863 before his marriage.
