Description: Chip-carved wooden box; made by John Callister as 65-078. Inside painted-green and roughly lettered in yellow-ochre Frances 1913 with lid hinged with bent wire pins.
John Callister aka 'Johnny Molly' was a well- known blacksmith. Chip carving is a style of carving in which knives or chisels are used to remove small chips of the material from a flat surface in a single piece.
