Copper ore and calcite

Description: Two specimens from Cross Vein Mine, Glen Rushen.Two shafts 80 yards apart. Engine/West and Whim/East. Levels at 20, 30, 40, 50, 65 and 80 fathoms. Lode between two shafts lost below 65 fathom. Sample A: very fine to coarse, brecciated quartz crystals with heavily degraded copper ore now a white to bright yellow powder. Sample B: Brecciated, fine quartz crystals with one face showing degraded chalcopyrite crystals and large, euhedral calcite or dolomite crystals.
