Description: A large appliquéd patchwork quilt with a geometric framed pattern of concentric squares surrounding a central panel. The central panel is comprised of nine appliqué stars (each made of six diamonds) set in squares. This panel is surrounded by alternate bands of patterned and plain patchwork. The quilt is made of cotton dress fabrics the dominant colours being pink, white, tan, and pale blue. The patterned fabrics include sprig, floral, striped, checked, trellis and pictorial.

The quilt is backed with white cotton fabric and is hand-quilted in a zig-zag pattern using white cotton thread. The edges are bound with three straight hand-stitch lines. The quilt contains no filling. The backing fabric has the words 'belgian home' printed on it.

The quilt was exhibited at the Manx Museum, Douglas in April 1940 in a temporary exhibition of needlework, samplers and patchwork quilts and was a centrepiece of the exhibition and is illustrated in newspaper photographs of the exhibition.
