Black corded silk bodice

Description: Black corded silk bodice lined on white printed ticking - like cotton. 12 bones. Fastened 14 hooks and eyelets. 18 small decorative black buttons (3 do not match). Braid on wrists, collar and bodice. 56 cm centre back.
Said to have been worn (with ID numbers 1979-0071-2, 4) by the maker Mrs Watterson (nee Miss Annie McCombe). [Annie McCombe appears on 1861 census listed as dressmaker, aged 21. She married James Watterson in Rushen in 1871]
