Description: Second World War Onchan Internment Camp token B. - 6d brass 1940.

During the Second World War the houses in Royal Avenue West, Belgravia Road and Imperial Terrace were all requisitioned and became known as Onchan Internment Camp. This is a 6d (six pence) brass coin minted by J.R. Gaunt, Birmingham in October 1940. The coins were issued for use in the Onchan Internment Camp, and were also later used at the Granville Camp in Douglas.
