Women's suit

Description: Navy blue, women's suit made for Mrs N. Harrison of Douglas in the 1940s by Kermode Bros. tailors, of Hill Street, Douglas (by Mrs Mylrea nee Kermode who did ladies tailoring in the firm).
The suit was made of men's suiting fabric because cloth was in short supply because of wartime shortages. Single-breasted, three buttons, padded shoulders, narrow collar and revers. Lined navy silky fabric. 65.5 cm centre back. Skirt 71 cm long with 5 cm petershem at waist on finely ribbed? mainly wool.
