Description: Stereoscopic viewer 'Kevuko' lightweight silvery metal and wood. With set of cards (27) depicting Langlaagte Deep (mine) South Africa. Donors stated J.A. Clague, a former Laxey miner, appears in number 1, number 25 and probably also 20 titled 'Old Workings Glimmer and Jack GM' (L.S. Garrad 's note). R. Neilson Photographer Box 145 Johannesburg on many of the cards.
James A.Clague was a Laxey Miner who travelled both to the USA and to South Africa in search of work.He worked in a gold mine at Lead, South Dakota and also Johannesburg.
