Bedroom rule cards from Belvedere hotel
Description: Bedroom rule cards. White printed with black lettering card. Two holes at top with string loop to hang it in hotel bedroom, Belvedere Hotel. Lists times for meals, cost of extra teas, settling of accounts, drinking up time for bar, reference to 1954 Hotel...liability Act, time of departures, location of additional gents' toilets and leaving hotel keys at office. Printed by Bridson and Horrox Ltd. Found discarded in 'attic' space above office behind bar. 25.2 x 15.7 cm.
The Belvedere Hotel finally closed in 1988. By the 1990s various parts of the Douglas promenade were redeveloped for new office and apartment developments, including the Belvedere Hotel.
