Knockaloe Internment Camp notice
Date made: 1916
Description: A Knockaloe Camp 'notice'. A hand drawn pen and ink design with watercolour wash. The design is of vegetables (bottom of notice), pots, bushes and climbing plants on trellis (at side of notice), a garland and 'August 1916' 'Ehren Urkunde' at the top with four flags intertwined into a bow. The flags include the flag of Turkey. The notice was produced for the camp garden for Camp IV (4) Compund 3 and appears to have been signed by the Gardens committee (?). The notice was framed by donor's grandfather, Mr Gelling (Tom?) who worked at the camp. The notice has a Bregazzi label on back of frame 38.5 x 28.7 cm.
