Rushen Internment Camp songbook

Description: Found by donor's mother at her house in Port Erin after property vacated by Second World War internees. Twenty-six pages of songs bound in purple and yellow hand decorated marbled card. Signed in blue ink on back inside cover 'Rosemarie Dalheim, Anita Dalheim May 31st 1974'.

Rosemary and Anita Dalheim were sisters who were held in the Married Camp at Rushen with their parents and received their early education there, before release in 1943. Together with their other sister they all qualified as teachers. Rosemary and Anita returned to the Isle of Man many times to visit the family that they had billeted with and other friends from the war years.
