Uniform tunic believed to be an officer of the North Manx Volunteers

Date made: c.1809

Description: Tunic believed to be from 2nd North Manx Volunteers, circa 1809 Officer Light Co. Red tunic with green facings (wing on shoulder). The buttons read 'Royal Manx Fencibles'.

This object appears in the Manx Museum Trustees report of 31 December 1907 (item JB27) where it is described as a Royal Manx Fencibles tunic. However the colour of the facings would seem to indicate that it is a Volunteers tunic.
