Description: Portrait painted by artist Hugo Dachinger whilst interned at Mooragh Internment Camp in Ramsey, 1940. Watercolour painted on a sheet of newspaper 'The Manchester Guardian', dated Thursday 10th October 1940. It shows a young man with black beard looking down wearing a dark jacket and tie. Possibly a fellow internee.
The choice of newspaper was perhaps significant, as the liberal leaning Manchester Guardian was keen to highlight the plight of the internees and the injustice of their detention.
