Glenfaba Hoard Sihtric Coin
Date made: post-mid-1020s
Description: Hiberno-Scandinavian/Hiberno-Manx transitional group. Struck from a Dublin obverse die which at some point in its life was transferred to the Isle of Man and used with locally-made reverses. In the First State (417-423) the coins are probably regular Dublin coins, but in the Second State (424-446) the coins may have been struck on the Isle of Man; the dividing line is difficult to draw. 13 coins struck from the obverse die were previously known. First State.
