Net needle, jeebin needle
Description: Two bone jeebin needles for herring Nets. One made at Cregneash and the other in The Howe.
The traditional hand made jeebin had been a sixteenth part of a piece of net. A jeebin was 18 yards long and 52 meshes deep. Four lengths of jeebin and four depths were joined together to form the piece of net 72 yards long 208 meshes deep.
