Woollen Striped Quilt

Description: Woollen patchwork quilt with striped pattern.
The quilt has a pattern of alternating red and black stripes. Most of the stripes are made of small lengths of woollen fabric sewn together giving the appearance of a single length of fabric. The quilt is backed with a cream coloured woollen blanket made of two pieces of cloth.
The quilt is hand-quilted with red woollen thread in a diamond pattern and does not contain any filling.
The quilt was made around 1840 by the Watterson family of Colby.
