Description: Drawing of the tomb which is similar to a shield and also depicts a sword and a monument of a wheel-headed cross. A note on the drawing states: 'Abbots Tomb at Bala Sala n the Isle of Man'.

Moses Griffith (1749-1819) was a Welsh draughtsman, engraver and water colourist. In 1769 he entered the service of Thomas Pennant of Downing, Flintshire (antiquary and natural historian). Griffiths provided illustrations to most of Pennant's books. In 1774 Griffith made a tour of the Isle of Man with Thomas Pennant and Captain Francis Grose (antiquary and topographical draughtsman).
