Horn Spoon from Cregneash

Description: Horn spoon lettered 'J. Kelly 18[71]' Belonged to Harry Kelly's brother James of Cregneash.

James Kelly of Cregneash appears on the 1871 census, listed as a fisherman away from home aboard the vessel 'Hero' CT49 along with six other men.

After his death in 1935 his nephew, J.T. Kelly, donated Harry Kelly's cottage to the Manx Museum as a monument to the Manx crofters' way of life.
