I am the artist to whom you kindly gave the permission to work on the balkony. [sic] My captain has turned me out and put a hairdresser in my place and he says that I have to go to the barracks.
May I politely ask that I may be allowed to remain up here as the barracks are not clean of _ _ _ _ _ and sleep here like Mr Stoltz and the two captains as I have slept since the 3rd of Oktober [sic] and nothing was wrong with me. Thank you in anticipation. I am yours obediently Max Schories No. 2271 Scenic Artist"
