Ramsey Bay
Date made: July 1815
Description: On the sketch is written: "Memorandum sketch of the Town and Bay of Ramsey, St Maughold's Head, North Barrule, Snafield, Mount Pellier, with the vale running from Ramsey towards the Village of Ballaff. Taken from Conc Neri Lie July 6 1815. About 100 yards from where this view was taken is a stone called Craig [_]ath, the impression of a human hand on it. This stone is of considerable dimensions and is said to have been thrown to the place where it now lies by a Giant from the North Barrule distant 8 miles." (Will Latham, July 1815)
Sketch by Captain William Latham of Liverpool. In July 1815 Captain William Latham made a tour of the Isle of Man with Mr William Gerard Walmesley Esq of Liverpool, Mr James Leigh of Liverpool and Mr Ralph Greenough of Wigan. Latham made many sketches of the Island during his visit.
