Manx slate

Description: Specimen of the Manx Group (Maughold or Agneash Formation). Grey, planar laminated, metamorphosed siltstone to very fine sandstone with laminations of dark grey, lustrous metamorphic mudstone. Strong crenulation cleavage parallel to a tight fold (suggesting it is part of the second phase of folding).

Measurements: 7 inch x 3 1/2 inch x 2 inch
