Loosely consolidated sandstone

Description: Pale brown; friable; poorly sorted (medium-grained to granular); sub-angular to rounded grains; lithic fragments of igneous rock, siltstone, vein quartz, black micrite. Well rounded, glassy quartz grains apparent in the matrix. Quaternary (probably Devensian).
