Conglomerate

Description: Large clasts up to 4cm of very diverse rock types, including coarse, grey sandstone; pink granite; chert; yellow siltstone. Clasts are well rounded. Matrix is pale brown; extremely poorly sorted (fine- to coarse-grained); sub-angular to sub-rounded grains. Glassy quartz grains are very obvious in the matrix. Very friable. Quaternary (probably Devensian).
