Large glazed ware tankard with letters GR to front
Date made: 18th century
Description: Large glazed ware tankard, stone coloured with blue design and badge with G.R. on the front.
This tankard is probably German in origin and the letters G. R. are an acknowledgement of George I, putting the date at between 1725 and 1750. There are a number of variations in style and shape but the blue glaze and letters are common to other tankards from this era.
