Conglomerate

Description: Large clasts up to 4cm of very diverse rock types, including greywacke; very weathered yellow-green igneous rock; vein quartz; fine red sandstone; granite; weathered dark brown igneous rock. Clasts are well rounded. Matrix is pale brown; poorly sorted (fine- to granular); sub-angular to rounded grains, mostly quartz grains. Well rounded, glassy quartz grains are very obvious in the matrix. Very friable. Quaternary (probably Devensian).
