Crosh Bollan

Date made: 19th century

Description: Crosh bollan. Triangular shaped bone with series of raised bumps on top surface. Bone Bollan Cross charm (upper palate bone of Wrass, used as charm by seafarers). Throat bone from a Bollan Wrasse fish, kept and used originally by fishermen as a lucky charm to prevent drowning etc, later used as a general Manx good luck charm.
