Date made: 1855
Description: We entered Peel, which is a small, miserable place, wholly kept up by the herring fishery carried on here with great activity; and the boats belonging to this port are equally numerous with those of Douglas.” (The Duke of Rutland’s ‘Journal of a Tour through North and South Wales and the Isle of Man’ 1797, M 02435)
