Dough Cutter from bakery
Description: Wooden-handled, iron dough cutter used until recently in donor's shop. Illustration in accession register III.
Harrison Quirk's family bakery in Peel had the contract for supply of bread to the Peveril internment camp during the Second World War. He recalled that it was a regulation that bread must be 24 hours old when delivered, as people eat less bread when it is stale than when it was fresh.
