Calcite

Description: Very large, euhedral, blunted hexagonal prisms of calcite on a finer mass of calcite with some limestone country rock. Only one sample found, as previously described but original description says: "Sample 4: subhedral galena crystals and a pale green, glassy mineral (calcite?) in a pale brown, very fine-grained matrix. Pseudomorphs of large euhedral galena crystals where the crystal has dissolved out leaving the "mould" of the crystal behind. Sample 3: fine, white calcite crystals in mammilar form secreted around a core of translucent calcite, possibly formed as a stalagmite/stalagtite. Sample 1: large mass of fine to coarse, euhedral calcite prisms, occuring in "stringy" aggregations."
