Onchan Camp Christmas card

Description: A handpainted watercolour card with an illustration of a three legged postman with a letter and parcels 'running' with a snail and tortoise, in the background is Douglas Bay and Douglas Head. Inside the card is written,
'Dear Mr McKenzie, May we also on behalf of all those here who had the pleasure to be in touch with you convey to you together with the greetings of the season our sincere thanks for the never failing help so kindly and readily offered to us "Amateur Colleagues" of Onchan Camp and for the sympathy and understanding shown to people who are the more grateful for it in these trying times. Yours sincerely E.Rachwalsky - Camp Postmaster and L.*** Camp Supervisor. Stamped in violet ink 'Douglas Isle of Man - 24 Dec. 40'.
Also an envelope cover with 'G.McKenzie, Post-Office, Douglas' written on it and a postmark '24 Dec. 40. Douglas, Isle of Man'.
The card was given to donor's husband who was a member of the Home Guard and lived at 13 Falkland Drive, Onchan, during the Second World War. He visited the internment camps on a regular basis.
