Rushen Internment Camp shell brooch

Description: A small limpet shell made into a brooch in Rushen Internment Camp. The shell brooch has two holes drilled into it and sewing thread used to fasten a safety pin to the shell to make a brooch. The domed top of the shell is decorated with coloured pens and paint with two flowers and the name 'Anita' and then varnished with clear nail varnish. The brooch belonged to the donor's sister, Anita Dalheim.
