Carboniferous fossils

Description: Collected over a number of years (2000 - 2009 approx.) by employee, Mr Brendon Doyle, with permission of the landowner, Colas Ltd. 1) Poorly preserved sparry calcite solitary coral in a medium dark grey, fine limestone. 2) Poorly preserved colonial coral in a dark micritic limestone. 3) Well preserved solitary coral (Siphonophilia?) in a finely bioclastic limestone. Part of a michelina colonial coral is also present. 4) A fragment of a large brachiopod in a medium light grey, fine limestone. 6) Poorly preserved crinoids in sparry calcite. 7) Moderately preserved piece of a solitary coral. 8) Poorly preserved calcified solitary coral in micritic limestone. 9) Moderate preserved but poorly exposed gastropod or goniatite in a finely bioclastic limestone. 10) Poorly preserved calcified solitary coral in micritic limestone. 11) Part of a solitary coral, partially composed of transparent, sparry calcite. 12) Well preserved brachiopod valve in a moderate light grey, finely bioclastic limestone.
